Boh Valley Best Hill Station
Boh village is situated in Tehshil Shahpur of District Kangra in Himachal Pradesh (India). Its name is Boh. It is 26 km from Shahpur. Shahpur is a town, situated on Pathankot-Dharmshala National Highway. About my village, though it is not associated with any historical event; however it is unique in many ways.
It is important for me because my lots of memories are associated with my village. There is also a chamunda Devi Temple.This is a small village associate with many sub-villages 1000 houses, which includes Jamwals,Thakur,Guleria’s (Rajputs) and Gaddis and lower castes. Though it is small village, but it is unique in its structure.

everybody is dependable on each other. Most of the lands are owned by the Rajputs, approximately about 40%.It is difficult for them to manage all the lands Therefore they take the help of people from each other This is the main resources of earning for the people is agriculture. Gaddis are wondering caste of Himachal Pradesh. They mainly own goats and cattle. In summer, they go up hills with their cattle.In summers as snow melts and new grass is available in abundance on these hills then they reach there to utilize this opportunity. They live there on hills for up to six months and come back before winter starts. With them they also take cattle of other villagers. In this unique way all castes are totally dependable on each other. Nobody can survive without the help of others There are lot of vegetables, paddy wheat, corn, some apples, which grown only up hills. Guava ,Pear, Banana is also there.
Several types of Herbs that grow here in the hills. These herbs sometimes cost around $200 to $500 dollar per kg, However, because of unawareness and non ability of buyers, they sell them for very less cost or sometime for free.From the village some distance, there are lot of forests there found lot of wild animals (Bear, leopard, musk, jackal, wild goat ) and many birds (Monal, wild cocks ,home sparrows, western Tragopan and also maney varieties of animals and birds found there Second unique thing about my village is its water system.There is lot of water. A river named Barahal Khad flows through the village, which is now making electricity and a Project has been previously. So, project to create a shortage for agricultural irrigation has been place 3 km away from village to the village. There is no shortage of drinking water,24 hours water in tabs and also there are many natural springs Here are always in power.
There is also a secondary school and many primary schools collage is some far from our village .it is about 26km. There is also no problem of transportation,there are lot of government buses and pvt. Buses and also taxies Due to this ,our village has not seen any water shortage in past. Third is the calm environment of my village. This calmness is like a meditation.
One can hear the voice of following river water from two km away. People talks from kilometres away can be easily heard here. In cities, we will never get this opportunity. In every part of village, one can hear nature talking to him and enjoy lots of miracles of nature. I invite people to explore the beauty of my village and Himachal Pradesh. You will really remember this for your life.
Languages However, much of the population speaks Pahari, which includes nearly all Western Pahari dialects. Medium of education in schools and colleges is Hindi, Punjabi, and English.
Food
The day to day diet of the village is though similar to the rest of north India but is unique for its taste and ingredients used. They have lentil, rice, and vegetables. The rotis (breads) are made of flours like wheat and maize.Some of the specialties cuisine include Mandra, Maahni, Batt, Mitha Saloona, Bhujju, Saag, Palda, Redhu, chouck, bhagjery, jhoul,siddu/batooru, beduan, chutney, khatti dal, etc.

Boh is situated in Himalayas. it is a mountainous state with elevation ranging from about 1,500 metres above the sea level.
The drainage system of village is composed both of rivers.Brahal river criss-cross the entire mountain chain.
There is great variation in the climatic conditions due to extreme variation in elevation. The Villagee has areas like Dharamsala that receive very heavy rainfall, as well as Snow Fall.
